1
What is coaching?
ICF defines coaching as "partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership." At its most basic, this involves conversations that develop trust and go deeper over time. Every coach brings their own background, experience, and training to their unique style of coaching.
2
How is coaching different than therapy?
Traditional coaching avoids psychotherapeutic issues including severe trauma, abuse and serious mental disorders. Therefore, delving into past situations and emotions is avoided; the focus is on the present and the desired future. There is some overlap between the two modalities, however. Coaching is also not the same as mentoring.

Who will benefit most from coaching?
People who are ready to do the work of serious insight and making changes, those committed to personal responsibility and being self-honest, will see the greatest benefits. My own coaching works best for mid-life adults who are outwardly successful but feel a deep sense of disconnection from, and longing for, a different life.

Why are your programs 12 weeks or longer?
In my experience, briefer durations of coaching stop short of creating lasting change and are rarely able to access the deep personal insights that take time to uncover and explore.
